Inspired by Susan Murdock, I joined this year’s Pan-Mass Challenge—my very first time riding to raise funds for cancer research. Asking for donations feels a bit outside my comfort zone, but this cause is incredibly close to my heart. I’m honored to join Susan and Heidi’s team in support of this vital mission.

Heidi’s courageous battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer—a rare disease that also affected Steve Jobs and Aretha Franklin—has only deepened my commitment. Thanks to the groundbreaking research and treatments at Dana-Farber, Heidi continues to live a full and meaningful life. Yet, the fight is far from over. Your support can help us reach the next breakthrough and offer hope for a cure.

This cause is also profoundly personal. Last August, my dad passed away from stage 4 lung cancer after nearly three years of fighting. He was the strongest person I’ve ever known—working through every treatment session, editing his book until his final breath. I was his primary caregiver during those years, witnessing his immense pain and resilience. I ride to honor his fight, his legacy, and his unwavering spirit. Losing him, along with two other loved ones to lung cancer, has made this mission even more meaningful to me.

The funds we raise will directly support Dr. Jennifer Chan’s research into new treatments for pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer. I know there are many worthy causes to support, and I am truly grateful for any donations or well-wishes for my ride.
