Why I ride - Riding a bike is how I can contribute to the fight against cancer. Rigorous training; fundraising; connecting with friends or making new friends helped me reconcile my grief.
Why I ride – Making new friends through the PMC. Betsy is a family friend from a number of years ago. Through a mutual friend, Betsy made a donation to my previous year’s PMC ride. We met for a cup of coffee and then met again for a walk along a local bike path. We met for dinner and then spent an afternoon riding on Block Island. An attraction was definitely growing. We started with a connection through Darla and the PMC. Now we’re forming our own connection. Betsy and I will be married in August, after the PMC weekend!
Why I ride - To honor the memory of my late wife. To remember all loved ones lost to cancer. To hope for a cure and a positive outcome for all those diagnosed so fewer and fewer people hear the devastating words “I am so sorry you have cancer.”
When I ride - August 3rd & 4th will be my eleventh PMC, third with my son David. To make a donation or to just follow me on my PMC page, visit me here: https://pmc.org/rs0342 or my son here: http://profile.pmc.org/ds0536.
Why I ride - This video shows some history of the PMC and how Dana-Farber has employed the funds over the years: PMC origin - full.
If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC, The Jimmy Fund or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and mail it to me directly at:
