It's January. For those of us that ride the Pan-Mass Challenge regularly, it's time to commit to another 2-day ride from Wellesley to Provincetown, Aug. 2 & 3, 2025.
As I prepare to participate in my 13th PMC with Team LUNGSTRONG, my heart is heavy knowing our fearless leader, Team Captain Diane Legg, founder of LUNGSTRONG, will not be with us. She lost her 20-year battle with lung cancer on Dec. 30, 2024.
However, I know Diane will be with us in spirit, motivating us as she always has. Her legacy lives on in her husband Dave, her beautiful family and her LUNGSTRONG teammates. The funds we have raised over the years have helped the doctors at Mass General Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute extend the lives of their cancer patients. Diane lived 20 years with Stage 4 lung cancer. She saw all 3 of her sons graduate from high school, and two of them graduate from college, because of the medical advances made with the money you have so generously given over the years.
This spring and summer, we will strap on our helmets and bike shoes, squeeze into our bike shorts and train as we prepare for PMC 2025. The hours, the sweat, the sore muscles -- all of it will be worthwhile if we can find a way to beat the relentless beast that is cancer.
Please help us make a difference by making a donation to my Pan-Mass Challenge ride, 2025. Any size donation makes a difference.and is appreciated.
