This August, I will have the honor of participating in the Pan Mass Challenge for the second year as part of team CRUS11TOUR and in honor of Dave Hovey III.
Dave was a close friend of Sam & mine, who we lost to glioblastoma in 2017, despite a valiant fight. During Davey's 16 month battle against brain cancer, he also managed to find the strength to establish the CRUS11TOUR - the name he gave his fight against glioblastoma.
Glioblastoma is a less common but highly aggressive form of brain cancer. The average lifespan after diagnosis is about 14 1/2 months and the 2 year survival rate is around 30%. Funding is especially important because this type of tumor is resistant to conventional therapy. 100% of the funds raised by the CRUS11TOUR will go directly to brain cancer research conducted by Dr. David Reardon at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and will carry on Davey's mission and legacy in eradicating this disease.
Davey's movement raised over $450,000 in 2017 and in 2018 we raised $605,000 from the PMC alone! Our goal for the PMC this year is to raise $700,000 and by doing so, coming one step closer to a cure for this disease.
I ask for your help in raising these much needed funds. Your generosity is very much appreciated and can be made at the following link: http://pmc.org/RH0213
On behalf of Davey, the Hovey's and the CRUS11TOUR team, I would like to say thank you for your continued support!
Ryan
