On June 15th, 2015 my family received the worst news imaginable. My niece & Goddaughter Olivia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia the day after her second birthday. Over the course of the next two years my sister Christine and her husband Jason had their lives turned upside down along with their other three kids: Hunter, Faith, and Emma. The initial fear and doubt that inevitably comes with such a horrible diagnosis was slowly broken down over time by the amazing people at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. In the early days of Olivia's treatment, it was them who coined the name that became who she is, Brave Livy. I'll never be able to fully repay the team who saved Liv's life for the care they provided not only to her, but our entire family.

Thanks to the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at the Jimmy Fund I'm beyond happy to say that Liv is now cancer free. However, there are still far too many kids & families fighting the same battle. I'll never forget that first day in the hospital and the fear in my Goddaughter's eyes as we watched her get hooked up to monitors and IVs. The PMC has blessed my family and me with a way to fight back so that hopefully one day soon, no family will ever have to encounter that day with their child.

I'm beyond excited to ride for a second year in a row with Team Path to the Cure alongside Jason, my brother Jon, and a man who I admire more than he knows and will forever be indebted to: Dr. Andrew Place. As Olivia's lead Oncologist, he was a rock for my sister and her family and led us all through the lowest points.
