I know that you’ve all become accustomed to receiving some old fashioned snail mail from us every year. In fact, this is likely the 21st letter you’ve received from the Drakes asking for your support.
When I started this journey in 2003, I had just been fortunate enough to have the best result in receiving the news we all dread. We were all so young – that diagnosis put to rest our vision of more children. But we had the girls and I wished and hoped to be there for them as they grew. Fast forward, twenty- one years later and my wishes have indeed come to pass. We’ve been the lucky ones. Our family continues to work towards paying it forward but only with your help.
Every year, we have made new pins for friends and family members who are battling or have lost the fight. We also celebrate more wins each year then ever before. And thanks to Dana Farber, the wins have been huge. The progress they’ve made at DFCI in the past few decades is monumental. And it’s no small feat that this progress is directly related to the funds we all have raised together.
This is the year that the Pan Mass Challenge will pass the BILLION dollar mark in support of Dana Farber! And the work is not over. Our family has remained stedfast in our goal as always. But our goal is just a bike ride without your support. This year, the Drake riders include myself, Mike, Hannah and Dan. Sarah and Connor will be riding on their own and supporting us in every way. The PMC continues to donate every single rider raised dollar directly to DFCI!
We have committed to raising $24,000 dollars by August of 2024. Yes, you heard that right!
