In 2015, at the age of 8, I was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which is the most common type of pediatric brain cancer. After being helicoptered to Boston Childrens Hospital from my family vacation in Acadia National Park, I received surgery, proton radiation and chemotherapy treatments--and am now cancer-free! When I first arrived at the Jimmy Fund, my doctors knew exactly what to do because of the type of tumor I had, a successful surgery, and because of the abundance of research made possible by the PMC. Not all pediatric cancer patients are this fortunate, which is why ongoing funding for pediatric cancer research is so vital.
