Why I Ride ...
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
In 2015, at the age of 8, I was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which is the most common type of pediatric brain cancer. After being helicoptered to Boston Childrens Hospital from my family vacation in Acadia National Park, I received surgery, proton radiation and chemotherapy treatments--and am now cancer-free! When I first arrived at the Jimmy Fund, my doctors knew exactly what to do because of the type of tumor I had, a successful surgery, and because of the abundance of research made possible by the PMC. Not all pediatric cancer patients are this fortunate, which is why ongoing funding for pediatric cancer research is so vital. By donating to the PMC, you are helping to expand treatment opportunities for kids who desperately need them.
Now I am riding the PMC myself, something I never would have been able to do without The Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber. I have been out of active treatment for 8 years now, and those years have been filled with friends, family, and so many moments that I do not take for granted. Please consider donating to my PMC ride, so that other pediatric cancer patients will beat their cancers, and be able to live their best lives.
