What a rollercoaster the past 12 months have been!
As many of you know, my wife Andreina was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. After a brutal treatment regimen (6 months of chemotherapy, two months of radiation, and multiple surgeries) along with the unbreakable spirit and determination of Andreina, we are truly grateful that she is now completely cancer-free.
None of this would be possible without the incredible team at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The exceptional care and support we received from their physicians, staff, and facilities were nothing short of extraordinary. We owe so much to the DFCI, and now, we want to give back.
That's why we are participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) this August, a charity bike ride that raises crucial funds for the DFCI. This event is one of the largest single athletic fundraisers in the country, and its impact is profound. 100% of the funds raised directly support cancer research and patient care at DFCI, ensuring that patients like Andreina receive the highest level of care possible. The PMC is aiming to raise $75M in total this year, which will put the total dollars raised over $1 Billion in the 40+ year history of the PMC!
Our team, “Andreina’s Recovery Riders,” consists of myself, Andreina, and my dad Fred. Together, we will be pedaling across Massachusetts, inspired by the strength and resilience of all those affected by cancer.
