Why I ride:

I write this letter with a heavy heart, to share a personal story of a family facing cancer. I will ride the PMC this year in August with my son, Greg Aubin. This will be his 12th PMC and my first. He was diagnosed with cancer last year. My deceased mother and other family members battled this disease as well.

Witnessing the courage and resilience of a child facing such an illness is both heartbreaking and inspiring. Seeing this devastating disease attack two family members and of course many others feels overwhelming.

The appointments, treatments, and the constant fear of the future consume them. The emotional and financial toll is immense, affecting many aspects of their lives. While they hold onto hope and lean on each other, Greg, Sarah, and the rest of our family are also acutely aware of the urgent need for advancements in cancer treatment and research.

This is a plea for support for cancer research. Breakthroughs in medical understanding and treatment offer the only real hope for countless others facing similar devastating diagnoses.

Generous contributions can make a tangible difference by funding research projects aimed at finding new therapies, developing more exact diagnostic tools, and finding cures for these devastating diseases.

Imagine a future where families do not have to face the unimaginable heartache of seeing their loved ones suffer from cancer. A future where diagnoses are less terrifying and treatments are more effective. This is a future within reach, but only with help.
