Hi Friend-
Thank you for your interest in donating to my 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge ride! Many of you have generously supported my ride every year for the past 18 years, and I am deeply grateful for your continued commitment. As I embark on my 19th year, I hope to reach $500,000 in lifetime fundraising before retiring my bike or at least riding shorter distances. Last year, thanks to your support, I surpassed $250,000 in lifetime donations.
It is with great sadness that I share the loss of my dear friend Calvin Moore to cancer last year. Calvin was a dedicated supporter of my ride, and this year I will honor him through my fundraising and riding efforts. Calvin, thank you for always being there for me - as a client, mentor, and friend.
This year, I will be participating in three separate PMC rides. On February 1st, I rode in the PMC Winter Cycle at Fenway Park. On August 2nd and 3rd I will ride the 200-mile event and on October 4th, I will take part in the gravel ride known as PMC Unpaved. You can donate using this link: www.pmc.org/egifts/RA0055
In addition, I will be riding 406 miles across Iowa in a ride called RAGBRAI, the largest cycling tour in the world. I plan to ride over 4,000 miles in hopes of making a difference in the fight against cancer.
This year’s PMC will be especially meaningful for me as I’ll be riding with my five roommates from St. Lawrence University. Two are coming from the DC area, one from Denver, one from Lake Placid, and one all the way from Utrecht, Netherlands.
My SLU roommate, Todd Ormiston, will be joining me for his fourth PMC ride, accompanied by his daughter, Chase. Todd’s wife, Elizabeth, was diagnosed with cancer four years ago and received treatment through Dana-Farber. Elizabeth has made a full recovery, and her battle inspired Chase to ride. As the Ormiston family can attest, cancer impacts the world, and Dana-Farber makes the world a better place.
Many people have asked how it is possible to ride 100 miles in a day. My answer is that I treat the ride as five separate 20-mile rides. The atmosphere at these events is incredible. Whether you participate as a volunteer or a rider, you feel connected to the greater good. The PMC is my favorite weekend of the year, and I leave knowing that our 10,000 participants and ONE BILLION DOLLARS raised truly make a difference. This year, I am proud to say I’m picking up my game.
It is a great cause, and 100% of the funds go directly to Dana-Farber. Once again, here is the link to donate to my ride: www.pmc.org/egifts/RA0055
Ride on!
