Why I Ride ...
My name is Pauline Wells and this year 2023, marks my 19th PMC. Both of my parents died from cancer, my mom in 1992 and my dad in 2001. Like many PMC riders, cancer has also taken the lives of many close friends and coworkers. Riding in the PMC each year is one of the best things I have ever done. I have met wonderful people, fellow riders, staff volunteers, and enthusiastic supporters.
Over the years I have ridden my support of children with cancer has become very important. As a member of the Cambridge Police Department Command Staff, I have had the unique honor to meet with many families who have children fighting the most incredibly tough battles to beat this disease.
These courageous kids are right with me each and every PMC mile through the cities and towns of the 190 mile course. God Bless all who ride, the staff and all those who support the PMC. We are so close to beating this horrific disease. Riding the PMC is a truly wonderful act of love and humanity.
