On Saturday, August 5th, I will be doing a one-day ride as part of the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC). I will be cycling from Wellesley to Bourne for a total of 89 miles.
I am riding to raise research funds in support of my friend and colleague, Dr. Gene Aron. He is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. All of this money raised will be directed to The Pancreaticobiliary Tumor Center, directed by Brian Wolpin, MD MPH, at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. (www.dana-farber.org) For me, it is also to honor two friends who have had pancreatic cancer, Dr. Heidi Fischer and Mark Paris.
My personal fundraising goal is $4000. Although this is an ambitious goal, I hope that you can help me in making advances in pancreatic cancer treatment research. I am part of a team of over 20 riders- Team Gene Therapy, friends who are based at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
If you are able to contribute, it would be a big help. No amount is too small.
