In Memory and Hope: My Ride Against Cancer

This summer, I am again taking on the Pan-Mass Challenge, riding 162 miles over two days from Wellesley to Bourne. Alongside thousands of dedicated riders, I am committed to finding answers and, hopefully, a cure for cancer.

Cancer is deeply personal to me. This year, I celebrate 16 years of living and thriving since my own diagnosis – I am incredibly fortunate. I also turn the age my mom was when she lost her battle with cancer. I ride because I CAN. To be physically able to ride and raise money is a blessing to be used and not wasted.

This year, I ride in memory of Diane Legg, a dear family friend who recently lost her long battle with cancer. Diane taught me to live fully, to be strong, and to never take "No" for an answer when "Yes" is possible. Her legacy reminds me of the profound impact one person can make.

I ride to honor my mom, Diane, and the many friends I've lost along the way, and especially those who continue to fight every day and desperately need a cure. I will be riding on the incredible Team LUNGSTRONG, which was started in 2009 to fund lung cancer research. Diane poured her heart and soul into this cause, raising millions in the years she fought.
