I welcome you once again to join me on my summer ride to beat cancer. We'll bike 200 miles over two days in late June, and I'd love your support.
As an update, my daughter Miranda is now three years post treatment and doing great. She has that bounce in her step and glimmer in her eye. Was it a grueling process, both physically and mentally...are there medications to take and side effects to deal with....sure. However, you wouldn't know it by the way she acts and carries herself. She has that Peyton Manning 'rub some dirt on it' attitude - she is truly my hero.
She recently graduated from college and we celebrated like rock-stars This has been a wonderful time to reflect and give thanks to the army of people that provided support along the way. Friends, family and business collegues came out of the woodwork to show support, in big and small ways. A special shout-out to the team at TransRe; they had my back and provided me with flexibility, encouragement and confidence to deal with this bump in the road. I've been at TransRe for 30 years, and it truly is a family.
Beyond Miranda, there are so many heroes I have, including you. Your notes of encouragement, your stories of loved ones all make this a fascinating and worthwhile pursuit. Also, while I'd love your financial support, please feel no pressure.
Come ride with me.
