Nancy & I and a team of friends and relatives are excited to again ride the Pan-Mass Challenge with thousands of others, this year on Saturday, August 5. The PMC has raised nearly $500 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As you may know, 100% of contributions to PMC riders goes directly to patient care and research at Dana-Farber and its Jimmy Fund Clinic.
I’m happy to be “living proof” of the mission, and I’m a big believer, to say the least. Back in June 2012, after riding in three PMCs, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer and had surgery soon after. The surgery was successful and I completed a 6-month chemotherapy course at Dana-Farber. I've been healthy ever since (knocks wood).
It's an amazing place, and the PMC does an amazing job of advancing the mission and improving the reach and scope of Dana-Farber. We all know someone -- or several someones -- who have benefited from both Dana-Farber and the PMC, and I'm proud to participate.
We are also riding again in memory of my sister-in-law, Robin Lotane, who passed away in 2010 after a courageous struggle with Stage 4 lymphoma, and my father-in-law, Ralph Jasinski, as well is in honor of several relatives who have had successful outcomes from Dana-Farber.
I hope you'll help the PMC by making a contribution. The bigger the better, but no amount is too small. On behalf of the PMC and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, I greatly appreciate any and all contributions. THANKS!
Phil
