Why I'm Riding....
This weekend, on August 3rd and 4th 2024, for the fourteenth consecutive year, I will be riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for cancer research. I am again thrilled to be riding for the Heidi's Hero's Team, which raises money to help find treatment for a rare form of cancer, Neuroendocrine Cancer. This once rare type of cancer has increased in incidence and prevalence over the past 20 years. It is now one of the most prevalent gastroenteric cancers. Presently there is no cure for this cancer. The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Program at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Chan is doing seminal research in Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET). The lab is investigating possible new therapies and is studying the immune environment of this cancer to investigate immune therapy as treatment. Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
