I’ll level with you… When I decided to do the PMC I was most excited for the ride and the fact it was a good cause was a nice bonus. Over the past couple years I have lost almost 150lbs and my passion for cycling has been a huge part of that.
As I’ve begun preparing for my first PMC and learning what it is all about, I've reprioritized those facts and, this year in particular, have a new-found conviction to the cause. One of my best friend’s brother was just diagnosed with lymphoma and hearing his story has really hit home for me.
I'm am honored to join the other riders, along with the amazing support staff and kind help from volunteers, donors, and of course friends and family. We have all been touched at some point in our lives by Cancer, either through friends, family or even ourselves. I will be riding in memory of those who didn't win the fight and in honor of those who are winning or have just begun the battle. Please join me and help make a difference for those we love.
This year on 8/3-4 I'll be riding 186 miles in two days and need to raise a minimum of $6000. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t do things halfway so my personal goal is to raise $10,000 and am asking for your help in achieving this goal. 100% of every dollar I raise goes directly to Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund.
Don't donate for me, donate for anyone you know who has ever been affected by cancer. Any contribution you can make toward my ride would be most gratefully appreciated. Donations are tax deductible. Check if your employer has a matching gift program; it's an easy way to double your contribution and helps me attain my goal even faster! Get the form from HR and follow the process for matches. I would need a copy of the form or the receipt so it would be credited towards my goal.
If there is someone special to you that you would like me to ride in honor/memory of, please let me know and I'll be happy to include their name on my profile page.
