Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the US. There is an estimated 140,250 new diagnoses of CRC in 2019, and that number will only increase in 2020. Even more startling is the dramatic uptick in those being diagnosed under the age of 50 years old, also known as young-onset CRC.
In August 2017, I married the love of my life, Amanda, and was the happiest I had ever been. One month later, our short-lived honeymoon came to a crashing halt when I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer at age 29. Despite the grim prognosis, I am blessed to still be here (and feeling good!) after 2+ years of battling. No one fights alone; I am still here thanks to my amazing wife, countless family, friends, loved ones, and even strangers who have aided and supported us throughout this journey. After receiving so much, it is only right to give back.
On August 1-2, 2020 I plan on riding the PMC's full course - 192 total miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown over two days. I have pledged to raise a minimum of $7,500. 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to Dana-Farber's Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center and the incredible work of my oncologist, and Director of the center, Dr. Kimmie Ng.
I ride for all those who have aided and guided us throughout our own journey; I ride for all those who have been affected by CRC; And I ride for all those who are no longer here with us because of this horrible disease.
PANDA POWER. Pray, Hope, Don't Worry! We THANK YOU for your support!
