This year I'm riding for Nico! This adorable, strong and happy little guy was dignoised with a Brian toumor just before his 4th birthday this year. I remember when I first met Nico he was all smiles, and still after all he's faced these past few months, he's still that smiley little boy. A sweet little warrior that continues to fight a battle that no child should face. Kids like Nico are why we ride. 100 percent of all rider-raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $1.047 billion for Dana-Farber cancer research! All donations towards my ride will be personally matched 100%! Join me in the fight!
I also ride in honor of my aunt and cousin and honor of my father. My aunt Macrina was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2023 and passed shortly after in June. Macrina dedicated her life as a nurse taking care of others. She was loving, compassionate, driven and intelligent. She cared and raised my sister and I as her own. I miss her everyday.
In October 2017 just months before his last year of service in Kuwait, my cousin Javier, at 32, was told he had stage 4 stomach cancer with just weeks to live. Javier valiantly battled the cancer for the next 4 months, he passed in February 2018. This just 4 years after we lost his mother, Daisy to her long battle with cancer. I also ride in honor of my father who was diagnosed in 2021 and continues to fight.
Please consider donating to raise money for this amazing cause. I will be riding in memory of Javier, Daisy and Macrina and in honor of Nico and my father and all of my supporters people, so please include your 'in memory of' person and I will carry them the 200 miles with me. Thank you for your support <3
