Dear Friends,
Each summer, thousands of cyclists and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge, all with one mission: to find a cure for cancer. Together, we get closer by the mile to a world without cancer. The PMC believes this is what a bike is meant to do!
On August 2 & 3, 2025, I am proud to be joining the thousands of riders cycling nearly 200 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown in my thirteenth (yes 13th!) Pan-Mass Challenge ride, with the largest team, Team Lick Cancer! In registering to ride the nearly 200-mile event, I have committed to raise a personal minimum of $6,000. Will you join me in this amazing event by making a tax-deductible donation to sponsor my PMC ride. Donations of any size can be made via my convenient rider link https://profile.pmc.org/NR0050. PMC donations are tax deductible and 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC's tax ID / EIN is 04-2746912.
The Pan-Mass Challenge is an incredibly moving and powerful weekend-long cycling event that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Over 280,000 supporters contribute to the PMC’s gift annually. 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research.
The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 62% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since its inception in 1980, the PMC has raised $972 million for Dana-Farber. PMC raised $72 million in 2023 alone. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. Can I count on you to be a part of this with me?
Cancer touches us all. I know you have a story, because we all do. I ride in memory of my mother, who died at age 62 from colon cancer. I ride in support of my brave brother who is battling stage 4 colon cancer. I ride for Charlotte O’Shea who died at age 4 of ATRT. I ride for my family and yours. I ride for friends. I ride for mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, sisters and brothers. I ride because I can!
Please join me in raising money for cancer research and treatment! Together, we are closer by the mile. If you have already donated, I thank you greatly.
With immense gratitude,
Nancy
