I could not be more excited and honored to be participating in the PMC again in 2022 for the 10th consecutive year. Being part of Team Big Jon and fundraising for and riding in the PMC has been and continues to be incredibly important to me.

I'm a proud PMC rider because year in and year out 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to fighting, treating, and maybe even curing, various forms of cancer.

Every year the number of family members, close friends, close family friends, family of close friends, etc. who could have benefited from the work and research done at Dana-Farber, and those who were lucky enough to have benefited, grows. The need for additional funding and resources for this important research is not diminishing.

Every year we ride in memory of and to honor family members and friends. This year as I prepare for my ride I am thinking of my uncle and my grandmother who both died of cancer far too young during my childhood. I am thinking of my friend Emily who lost her brother Oscar. I am thinking of my friend Claire who lost her husband Brian just 6 weeks before their son Sam was born. I am thinking of many friends who have lost parents to cancer. I am thinking of my TBJ teammate Brad Northrup (the father of my friend and teammate, Eli) who died this spring a year after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I am thinking of all the grief and pain I have experienced and borne witness to and hoping that the money raised from this ride can spare others of this pain and grief in the future.
