Summer greetings! This month I ride a sixth PMC with John Clements and Paul’s Posse. Yes, I’m undertrained, but committed. Our group has added another living proof to its ranks this year; we now have four. Tony Howell has been incredible through this experrience. I proudly ride for him and his continued recovery.
I also ride for another friend and survivor this year: Gardner C. A fabulous musician and wonderful colleague, he continues to inspire through art and a deep connection to nature.
I'm also riding for family friend Stacey Peltz, who recently passed away. It was a joy knowing her. To witness her balance this illness with a full life and incredible sense of humor through the years was a wonder. She is missed by all who knew her.
Treatments available today through research done at Dana Farber Cancer Institute address so much more than they did over 20 years ago when my dear adoptive mother Charlotte Garceau Treuenfels was diagnosed. She remains my forever hero.
Surviving to thrive remains the goal with every diagnosis. Rain or shine, I look forward to sharing stories of effort and struggle. It's uplifting being part this important event. I particularly enjoy the multiple generations of family members riding together. Seeing children grow year after year because of care they have received from Dana Farber is an emotional highlight of the 186 mile ride - they show up, I show up.
Heartfelt thanks to our team Paul’s Posse and the amazing volunteers, survivors, children and family members en route who encourage and keep us safe. I also congratulate loving partner John Clements on his 28th PMC! Thanks to him and the Clements Family for introducing me to this opportunity to ride together and raise funds for transformative research.
Please consider supporting the thought, research, collaboration, perseverance and dedication to cure cancer - and support those who shine humanity through it all: https://egifts.pmc.org/NN0030
Loving thanks to those who have given kind wishes and support in the past. I hope you’ll join me again this year!
