Why I Ride ...
I’m so excited for year 2 with Team Duncan (although it's felt like I’ve been part of the team for a lot longer as a fan cheering them on at water stops and sneaking into their celebratory cookouts at the Finigan’s). Team Duncan is 90+ riders strong this year and has an impressive track record having raised $8.88M over the past 22 years.
Team Duncan is named in honor of my great friend Alec’s mom (one of the best fans in Colby baseball history), who passed away from metastatic breast cancer in 2019. Duncan always had a smile on her face and lived for bringing people together. After her cancer diagnosis in 2014, she founded Project Pink at her former company, OOFOS, which has led to more than $2 million donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. She was also an impressive athlete and loved pushing herself to the limit in various sports, especially running. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in October 2014, Duncan never stopped persevering and rode in 4 PMCs before she lost her courageous battle in May 2019. For more on Duncan's story please check out the link here.
Even the smallest of donations will help the medical teams at Dana Farber in finding innovative solutions, funding clinical trials and eventually finding a cure for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Thank you for visiting my page and for supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s mission!
