I continue to ride the PMC (2025 will be year 11 for me) because the Pan-Mass Challenge is an extraordinary fundraising event focused upon defeating the scourge of cancer.
All of us have been touched by cancer in some way. Great progress has been made to advance treatment methods, but you and I still know too many people suffering with, or struggling against, cancer - there's much more to be done. Please help support ongoing research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute that WILL end cancer.
The traditional PMC ride passes 192 miles in two days, from Sturbridge to Provincetown in the first weekend of August. This year, 2025, I'll be riding only the first day for 109 miles. Although the real goal of the ride is to raise funds to help stamp out cancer, for me, the ride is an emotional roller coaster. There are grim reminders of the people who have been cheated of healthy years, but there's also a grand celebration of life, with hope strengthened by the progress made to date. It is truly awesome to behold the community of so many (over 6000 cyclists!) pedaling to support future developments.
I ride in MEMORY of friends and family members whose lives were shortened by cancer.
I ride in THANKS for survivors who have benefitted from treatments developed at Dana-Farber and elsewhere.
I ride in HOPE for a cancer-free life for everyone's grandchildren.
You and I can't end cancer by ourselves. But we can, through our financial support, help Dana-Farber's researchers and practitioners uncover cancer's roots, find better treatments, and eliminate it. Be assured that 100% of your donation goes directly through the PMC to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to developing treatments and cures.
Please help to put an end to cancer by contributing at:

Let me remind you that the PMC passes all rider-raised donations directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and please know that any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
With warm regards,
Norm Decker
