UPDATE...
Unfortunately this years PMC is different due to Covid-19. My re-imagined ride is now totally different.. In April, I got medflighted from Nantucket to Boston with pneumonia, obviously Covid was in full swing and I was terrified.. My training rides for the PMC this year have literally been 3 spin rides, but guess what, I am counting those miles towards the 192 that would have been the 2 day ride.
I commited to ride and to fundraise for this, and those who know how stubborn I am, not cancer or pneumonia is going to stop me.
If you could PLEASE donate to this amazing cause, and this year, I pledged to help fund research for Dr Kimmie Ng's research at Dana Farber, by joining team fear nothing.
SO... the last PMCs I rode in were in honor and in memory of... #PMC2020 is a whole other animal.. I will be riding as Living Proof.
December 2018, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Talk about a kick in the gut. However, my tribe were with me all the way and kept things normal - which is exactly as I needed it to be.
January 18th, 2019, I had surgery, February 8th I was skiing in the French Alps. March 16th I started my treatment, and successfully got through it. November 19, all clear on my first mammogram since the diagnosis.
So, I am riding because I am able. I am riding because I am grateful, I am riding because I have something to prove, but mostly, I am riding to raise as much money as I can to continue the research that got me to where I am today.
Joining me are quite a few of 'my supportive tribe' including my partner, David, who is riding his first PMC. This year we are riding with a fantastic team - team fear nothing. Please take a minute to check out the teams profile, it is quite stunning how much money, collectively, the team has raised over the years, with EVERY penny going to research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
