I'm super excited to be riding in PMC this year, such an important event that I've watched as a spectator since I was little. It wasn't until last year, when I was able to watch my boyfriend, Jay, and his brother Christian, participate in their first PMC. They rode with team WillPower, a team formed in honor of their dad, John Willett, who died from Melanoma. I was so inspired by their training, fundraising and determination in race day, that I wanted to join this year to echo some of it myself.
Everyone's been affected by cancer in some way, shape or form. I'm riding for the 2 million patients diagnosed with cancer each year. I'm riding for everyone who has been affected by this horrible disease. Thank you so much for your consideration in donating!
I'm a proud participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge - a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country - to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer.
Since its founding in 1980, PMC riders like me have raised more than $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's top cancer care hospitals. My PMC is making a difference in the lives of patients at Dana-Farber and around the world. The funds I raise support the innovative work of doctors, nurses, and scientists in their search for cures for cancers and related diseases.
