Why I Ride ...
My name is Nicole Boutin and I am 21 years old. This will be my first pan-mass challenge ride and I could not be anymore excited! Throughout my life I have seen loved ones fight cancer & i have seen some lose the battle. My cousin Jacob was diagnosed with cancer at a a very young age, putting not only himself but our family in shock. Jacob went through months of chemo & torture to fight this horrible disease. With his determination to get better he did beat the cancer and is cancer free and a healthy average teenager today. Another reason why I ride is for my uncle's father; Doctor Feigin. He was an extraordinary doctor in Texas running Texas Childrens Hospital -helping children from all around the country. Never picking up a cigarette in his life, he was diagnosed with lung cancer which got worse and worse at a very fast pace. Cancer took over & he lost the battle in 09. I ride for my neighbor and very close family friend Barbara Cebula who beat cancer and is now 9 years cancer free. I ride for the Swiderski Family who lost their mother; Ela Swiderski. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which spread like wild fire throughout her body in a short time span. Being by her side throughout this whole battle really opened my eyes - seeing as she changed daily and all the pain she was going through. She lost the battle to cancer in July 09. That summer i went to the pan-mass challenge and it truly inspired me. Just seeing all those people riding for one cause & one cause only - to beat cancer. I am honored to be apart of this team and ride knowing I am making a difference. Please help me in donating to my ride - any little bit helps and can go a long way! Thank you and wish me luck! :)
