Why I Ride ...
I ride in memory of Eric Chase, who died due to severe Graft vs. Host Disease (GVHD) from a stem cell transplant to treat AML Leukemia in 2012, when he was just 21 years old. The money that Team Eric raises goes towards the research that Eric's doctors continue to do. They've made amazing strides, and knowing what an impactful cause this money goes to means everything.
In my 8 years of riding, I have raised over $70,000 to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute! Unfortunately over those years, I have seen more friends and family go through their own battles with cancer. So riding in the PMC just keeps meaning more to me.
I am continually amazed that I get to take part in the largest single athletic fundraising event in the world. Every rider-earned dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber. Thank you to everyone who has donated to one of my rides, to Team Eric, and to the PMC!
