I ride because when I was young, I found out my Grandma had cancer. She also happened to live in Florida, which meant that every time I saw her it could be our last moments together. We didn’t get to visit her as often as I liked, but we tried to stay in contact on the phone daily if we could, and talk for hours. Would this be the last time we talked? Would the next time we planned to see her come soon enough? Every time we returned home or she returned back to Florida I remember crying. We had a lot of happy times together but it sadly ended too soon when she lost her battle in 2008 when I was just entering high school. I have a cousin that had cancer, my Nana too, they were lucky and kicked cancer in the butt. But the mere thought that this horrible disease runs in my family and many others gives me the strength to ride each year in this emotional event. So please help me stop this from happening to someone else and donate what you can so we can find a cure.
