I have been riding the Pan Mass Challenge for the last 14 years and with your help, I will have raised over $100,000 for cancer research this year. I keep coming back to this 200-mile ride year after year for the loved ones who left us too early due to what could be preventable diseases. I also ride for those lucky enough to benefit from modern treatments and medicine and still live their best lives today. My father and I are among those who had cancer and survived.
What makes the PMC different from many other charities is that 100% of the money raised goes directly to cancer research. What makes the Dana Farber - Team Flames - different from many other teams is that our team is made up of Doctors, Nurses, Patients, and caregivers. The money raised for our team goes to Adult Oncology and Lymphoma Clinical studies. The research we're funding helps save countless lives and has had a direct impact on my family and many of my friends in the living proof community.
Over the past 14 years, I have lost too many amazing people in my life to cancer, this year is no exception. Ellen Tubman was my Aunt who lost her hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer this year. She was an amazing person and a glue that helped keep our extended family connected. It's total BS she's not with us anymore. She was loved by so many people that when she passed, it left a massive hole in our collective hearts. That hole is one of many as this is one story out of 600k+ in our country this year. We've never been closer to finding new treatments and technologies to reduce this pain and suffering.
I could not be prouder to be part of this team, our doctors and nurses who dedicate themself to this cause, and this community of supporters who make this charity what it is.
If you can, please pitch in a few bucks to help us kick cancer in the pants.
Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
Thank you,
Max Tubman
