Dear Friends and Family,

Nancy and I have participated in the Pan Mass Challenge together since 2001,now our 24th year of participation. Most all of you have shared in this work together with us for as many years, and we thank you.

This year we ride for our good friend Steve who is fighting his cancer battle, and we continue to ride in honor our past relations and your own loved ones who have been in the misery of cancer. Too many lives affected....

At the same time, we are excited to be riding in a particularly special year for the event. The Pan Mass Challenge, now in its 45th year,will surpass a lifetime total contribution of $1 billion toward research and treatment that has translated into increased lives saved, better treatments and better patient care, all of which brings hope. It is you, our committed contributors, who keep these wheels of progress turning and this will be YOUR celebration. Our sincere congratulations for having contributed to such a life-giving event.

Riding 200 miles on the first weekend of August, as a metaphor for the endurance required to ride the uphill battle on behalf of those with cancer, we fund raise because 100% of the money raised continues to go directly to cancer research and patient care thru the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

We ride, year after year, inspired by faces of hope in our “pedal partners” (patients undergoing care), faces of hope and joy in the crowds that come out year after year, bearing signs of gratitude from family members and cancer overcomers. Your partnership means that you too, share in the satisfaction of bringing hope and joy to people who need our encouragement and help.
