This will be my 32nd year of riding the PMC. For the 4th year in a row, I will be riding to raise money for the Frank Shaughnessy Kidney Cancer Fund at the Dana Farber. My brother was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in 10/20. Frank's fund is raising money for early stage kidney cancer research where funds are typically hard to find.  Two of the drugs Frank had taken had Dr. Toni Choueiri (head of Dana Farber kidney cancer team) as the clinical trials' lead investigator.  My beloved brother Franks died on June 21st surrounded by his family.  Frank's cancer journey was brutal.  The only positive about the last few years is that I was fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time with him and his family and friends.  For a few reasons, I haven't been on my bike much this year so this year's ride is going to be a tough one but I know i will have a special tailwind blowing me along....

Over the 31 years I have ridden the PMC, thanks to so many generous people, i have been able to raise $2.8mm and had the privilege to ride 6800 miles. Please keep up all the tremendous generosity!! I know that whether it is cancer or another serious disease, it is the research behind the good doctors that allows for the hope of a cure or at a minimum, the extension of a quality life. PMC riders, volunteers, and sponsors are all an expression of the vision that we can act in small yet significant ways to make the world better rather than be passive observers. I thank you for your support and generosity in this battle to defeat cancer!!
