Why I Ride a 2nd Time...
This is my second year riding the PMC from Sturbridge to Provincetown. Last year, I rode in memory of my Saint Anselm College roommate and dear friend, Cara Brown Rogers who lost her battle with AML at a very young age. This year, I ride in memory of our cousin, Naadir Mehta, who courageiously and tirelessely fought against colerectal cancer over the past three years. Naadir was 26 years old and passed just before Thanksgiving last year. Throughout his journey, Naadir was committed to bringing visibility to the cruely of pediatric cancer and to that end, started the Mehta Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research (www.mehtacancerfoundation.org.) Ultimately, the path to a cure can come from anyone of us through fundraising, research, our individual experiences. I think by continuing to bring awareness of the insidious nature of the disease with the understanding that noone really immune will create enough noise and visibiliyt that a cure is inevitable. I'm riding the PMC to make sure I do my part and in memory of our beloved, Naadir.
Riding the PMC is my way of honoring Cara and Naadir knowing that the money I raise (with your support) will directly save lives. Unlike other fundraisers, 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. Please help me help others.
