Dear Friends:
2025 has arrived and we are in motion!
Our team is already 30 strong and this year marks my 29th consecutive personal effort to raise important funds for cancer research and specifically with our own team mate Dr. Katie Janeway's world class work. Katie is a very active team member/rider and offers the following relative to how our direct fundrasning is impacting the lives of her patients and familiies:
Join Us in Year 10 of PMC Precision for Kids + Adults (P4K)
— A Milestone Year for Our Team, Our Mission, and Our Family
Dear Friends,
2025 marks the 10th year of the PMC Precision for Kids + Adults (P4K) team—and my 29th year riding!
Over the past 9 years, thanks to your incredible generosity, the P4K team has raised $2.6 million to support groundbreaking research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This work has transformed the lives of children with cancer and their families, and we’re not slowing down.
Genomic testing (tumor profiling) funded by P4K has:
Identified more effective and less toxic treatments for young patients
Provided accurate diagnoses when none existed before
Improved medical care and quality of life for children and their families
This work has had direct, life-changing results for children like our pedal partners Emma, Matthew, and Jack, whose stories continue to inspire us.
Because of the success of this research, genomic testing is now standard of care + covered by insurance—and made possible in part by your support.
Now, our mission expands.
With genomic testing now integrated into clinical care, we’re focusing your donations on amplifying and advancing precision medicine:
Dr. Katherine Janeway’s lab is analyzing genomic data to:
Understand why some treatments work better for certain patients
Inform the development of new, more targeted therapies
Ensure children benefit as much as adults from breakthroughs in cancer care
In 2024, we welcomed a second Dana-Farber physician and researcher to the P4K team:
Dr. David Shulman, a pediatric oncologist and PMC rider.
Dr. Shulman specializes in sarcomas, cancers of the bones, muscles, and connective tissue, focusing on adolescents and young adults—a group that has historically had poor outcomes and limited access to research breakthroughs.
Dr. Shulman is leading studies to bring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) technology—also known as liquid or blood biopsies—into clinical care. This revolutionary approach:
Profiles cancer genes using blood samples, eliminating the need for invasive tumor biopsies
Allows for more frequent, less painful testing
Helps us monitor how tumors respond to treatment in real time
Brings hope and precision to young patients who need it most
Together, Dr. Janeway and Dr. Shulman are helping us determine who will and will not benefit from current treatments, so we can better target therapies and, ultimately, save more lives.
Your support powers this vital research and brings hope to families facing the unthinkable. Please consider donating to our team as we ride for a future where every child with cancer has access to the best, most personalized care.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we are making a difference—one mile, one child, one breakthrough at a time.

With deep gratitude,
