This year marks a significant milestone as I embark on my 11th Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC)—a 190-mile journey from Sturbridge to Provincetown. My first PMC ride came just months after the devastating loss of my uncle to glioblastoma at the age of 48. He was diagnosed when he was 47, the same age I am now. Each year, the honor and memory ribbons I carry bear more names of cherished family members, colleagues, and friends who have been touched by this relentless disease.
I will be riding in memory of two dear friends who recently lost their battles with cancer. Their spirit and courage continue to inspire me. Additionally, I ride in celebration of the precious years gained by countless individuals, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Cancer does not rest. It is a relentless adversary, sparing no one, showing no favoritism, and wreaking havoc indiscriminately. It has no friends, no allies, no comrades—yet it wages war on its own. The devastation it brings, however, is no match for the resilience, hope, and triumph that the Pan-Mass Challenge symbolizes.
Your support fuels the fight against cancer and brings us closer to a world where this disease is no longer a death sentence. Every dollar raised bolsters the groundbreaking research and compassionate care provided by Dana-Farber. Together, we can turn the tide against cancer and create more stories of recovery and success.
Thank you for standing with me in this battle. Your generosity and support mean the world to me and to all those affected by cancer. Let's ride together towards a brighter, cancer-free future.
