On August 2nd and 3rd, I'll be joining thousands of passionate cyclists in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) – a powerful two-day journey from Sturbridge to Provincetown, Massachusetts, spanning over 200 miles. This isn't just a bike ride; it's a driving force fueled by hope and determination to raise critical funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at the renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund.
Imagine pedaling alongside a wave of support – cancer survivors radiating strength, individuals bravely fighting their battles, and families honoring loved ones. The energy is palpable, a testament to the shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those touched by this disease.
The PMC stands as the nation's largest single fundraising event, a testament to the incredible impact we can have when we ride together. In 2024 alone, this inspiring community raised over $75 million! What makes the PMC truly special is its unwavering commitment: 100% of every single dollar donated goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Every penny truly counts in the pursuit of a cure.
This year, our dedicated group of friends will once again ride with a powerful purpose: in loving memory of Kerri Massaro. Kerri was the beloved wife of our teammate Matt Massaro and a shining light in the West Hartford School District as an exceptional mother, friend, mentor, teacher, and coach. She faced her battle with breast cancer with incredible courage and was deeply supported by her family, friends, colleagues, and the compassionate medical team at Dana-Farber.
As part of this challenging yet deeply meaningful ride, each of us has committed to raising $6,000. Your generous contribution, in any amount, will bring us closer to this goal and, more importantly, closer to breakthroughs in cancer research and care.
