This year, I have made a decision to step WAY out of my comfort zone. In August of this year, I will get on a bike and ride over 200 miles in 3 days, and next month I will get on a bike for the first time in about 25 years, so that should make things very interesting :) For years I have stood on the side of the road and cheered these riders on, knowing that they are sacrificing a ton so that people like my son Mason have a better shot at living. This past year has really put things into perspective for me and made me truly understand how fragile life is. If we don't act on the things that intrigue us, we may never get a chance. I am inspired by Mason, and his warrior spirit. Though I have no business riding a bike for 200+ miles, I am driven by the fact that my son has fought so courageously for so many years, never complained, and never given up.
I will be joining an amazing team who have been riding in Mason's honor for over 10 years now. Forza-G and all of its members have been a huge part of our lives for that time and I am honored to join such an awesome group of selfless people.
I am hoping to raise an incredible amount of money in Mason's name, so that his legacy will not only be that of courage and inspiration, but one of healing and giving as well. I will be directing the money I raise to help children battling low-grade brain tumors like Mason. I am asking for your support and donations so that research can be done to assure that no parent has to live with the fear that Laura and I have over the past 14 years. I am committed to a personal fundraising mark of $5,500. I have no experience in raising funds for anything, so that number is scary, but I know that the cause is worthy and I am willing to take the chance. Thank you so much for considering a donation, and thank you for your continued support.
