Dear Friends and Family,

We are excited the PMC is back in full swing this year with the original ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown at 192 miles on Aug 6th & 7th.  This is my 14th year riding along with my wife Rina (19 year rider), my daughter Hannah (11 year rider), my daughter Sarah (3 year rider), and the 2 boyfriends Dan (1st year) & Connor (3rd year).  Our team Nashua Rides for HOPE (now rebranded as Team HOPE) is 40 riders strong this year.  I am proud that the Drake Family lifetime fundraising will hit close to $250k this year with Team Hope hitting $3.2M over our 20 year history.  Each rider for the 2 day event is committed to raising $6k this year.

We all know someone impacted by cancer and 100 percent of all rider-raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 55 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $831 million for Dana-Farber.  The 2021 donation to Dana Farber was $64M with a 2022 goal of $66 million. 

My mother has been directly impacted by this research as she has Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), which is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow.  Through the PMC funding, Dana Farber has developed a treatment with a 70-80% CURE rate after 2 years of treatment and she is 1 year into the treatment now.  This type of groundbreaking research is directly supported by these funds.
