Why I Ride ...
I am thrilled to be riding in my third Pan Mass Challenge this year and to be doing it once again with Team Next Gen! I am also riding in honor of my high school field hockey coach, Lisa, who has been a hero to my hometown community through her mentorship to the hundreds of athletes she has coached and students she has taught at the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. As a truly beloved teacher and coach, she has dedicated so much of her life to instilling confidence, discipline, geneorsity, and kindness in young people. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer this year and bravely underwent lifesaving treatment this spring in Boston. I can think of no better reminder of the importance of Dana Farber's research and innovation than the medical advances that helped Lisa this spring, and it is a privilege to ride in her honor this year.
I am so proud to support the PMC as it continues to lead the charge to beat cancer. Last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure, and this year the total funds raised will surpass one billion dollalrs.
