Sixteen years ago my dad started Team Big Jon and rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge alone to honor his good friend, Jon Weiss. Since then the team has expanded, but our cause remains the same: to kick cancer's ass. I am very excited to be joining the team again for the 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown for my seventh summer!

My grandpa, Jimmy Cohen, passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in March 2022. Jimmy battled cancer for 5 months and was taken from us way too soon. Jimmy was the least ordinary grandpa in the best possible way. He lived next door to us from the day I was born and then moved in with us when I was 10. Jimmy was involved in every aspect of my life knowing what classes I was taking to the drama with my friends. This year all the donations my dad and I receive will go to Dr. Stone's Leukemia Research Fund at Dana Farber. I hope with this year's ride and fundraising less people can lose the Jimmy's in their life (even though I think ours was truly one of a kind).
