Dear friends and family,

Patrice and I could be riding the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) in this fun, pedal-powered bug but since the ride consists of riding almost 200 miles over 2 days to raise money for cancer care and research for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, we will stick with our bikes!  This year the ride happens on Aug 3rd and 4th and it represents 45 combined years of us participating in this ride. And this year is extra special as the fundraising is slated to eclipse ONE BILLION DOLLARS raised since its inception in 1980! This money has contributed to amazing advancements in the field, including new targeted therapies and most noteworthy immunotherapy, which has cured several patients and is also Mike’s passion in his biotech career.  However, while we of course celebrate these victories, there is still much more to do.

We will always ride in memory of our loved ones who have passed from cancer and, of course, in honor of those we know who are currently fighting this deadly disease.  Sadly, that list continues to grow and includes two of Mike’s cousins, our nephew, a dear friend, an old friend’s daughter and another friend’s sister just to name a few. It seems to be an especially long list of people we know battling it this year.

We hope you’ll consider supporting our rides and helping us reach our fundraising goals this year. As most of you likely know, EVERY rider-raised dollar goes directly to the research at Dana-Farber. We are excited to be part of the push to get the PMC over that $1 Billion mark. We personally are shooting to raise, with your help, $20,000.
