On December 2, 2011, my then 2 year old son Callum was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Although that day was the worst day of my life, we have been lucky enough to have the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Jimmy Fund Clinic through Dana Farber by our side for the last 12 years through the ups and downs. Callum has had 3 major surgeries, several procedures, 2 chemo protocols, and countless MRIs. At times he has been unable to talk or walk, but today he is running and leading a normal a life as he can! His journey is not over and is long, so this 192 mile 2-day bike ride and the fundraising that goes with it, is personal. The PMC raises 57% of the funding for Dana Farber - without the PMC, there is no Dana Farber as we know if today. We need to continue to help and fund the research and treatments not only to help Callum, but the countless other kids and adults faced with difficult brain tumor and other cancer diagnoses.
