Five years & counting!
In Memory of Rose & Francis White & Joseph Shea
2024 marks the fifth year I am riding the PMC to support Dana Farber. The strides of Dana Farber have accelerated innovative cancer research and adapted new methods of treatment for current patients fighting cancer. In our world, cancer has affected most people in some way - whether it be a personal battle with cancer or supporting a loved one through their fight with cancer.
My family has endured the effects of cancer, having lost both my paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather to cancer. As such, I was unable to personally know all of my grandparents. My commitment to the PMC is driven by the knowledge that one day with a cure, fewer families will be touched by the ramifications of a cancer diagnosis.
Over the past 30 years, my family has been continuously involved in the PMC, with many riding yearly, volunteering at water stops, or being proud supporters. After growing up and witnessing many of my aunts and uncles fundraise and ride each year, I understood the magnitude of their impact and have since been passionate about riding the PMC.
Even though I never truly got to know my grandparents, the stories of their character, strength, and wisdom have all influenced aspects of my life. Knowing of their strength and resilience pushes me to remain committed to the PMC as my opportunity to fight back against a disease that touches so many of us. With the unwavering efforts of the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber, continuous progress brings us closer to a cure each year. Their mission is driven by the support and donations of thousands, which I am incredibly grateful for. Please consider supporting my Pan Mass ride to reach my goal, with all proceeds going directly to Dana Farber Cancer Research.
Thank you in advance for your continued help and support to find a cure!
