Dear friends and family,
I was running a little late with my traditional letter and I did not know what was keeping me from writing. Then last week, my first cousin was diagnosed with colon cancer. Thankfully, he underwent successful surgery. I thought that would be enough to get me going, but I was still stuck. When I got news that another dear cousin was just diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer. I knew now was the time to write.
These realities are why I ride.
Unfortunately, being diagnosed with cancer happens to families we know everyday. The encouraging part is that because of all the money and research we have raised together over the past 11 years, their outlooks are much better. There are friends whose names were added just last year who have successfully completed their treatments and I will celebrate their victories as I ride.
This year the PMC will break the ONE BILLION dollar fundraising mark since its inception in 1980 and all of your donations have contributed to this amazing number. Please join me this August 3 & 4 on the continued journey of the PMC, where 100% of your donation goes directly to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
As always my parents, Jane and Ed, will be my guiding light – leading me all the way to Provincetown. Their names, along with the names of your loved ones, will be written on the back of my jersey. Please send me a name you would like to honor or remember and I will happily add it.
Donations can be made directly to my PMC page:
