I Ride ... because I loved him.
The PMC is so much more than a bike ride. It's about coming together to make an impact, change lives, and defeat cancer.
This year will mark my seventh year of participation in the Pan Mass Challenge for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I ride in memory of the best dad ever, who fought valiantly for 9 months after his Multiple Myeloma diagnosis. The top notch care he received at the DFCI was amazing, but the tools available just weren't strong enough to defeat the monster. That's why the research done at DFCI is so important and deserves my support. Last year 6813 PMC riders raised $75,000,000 and EVERY penny of that went to the DFCI to help find a cure. They are making incredible strides, but the battle is not yet won. 100% of EVERY rider raised dollar goes to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute - please donate what you can.
This year my ride is going to look very different! Kevin and I are relocating to South Carolina in July. Timing and logistics make it highly unlikely that I will be able to get back to particapate in ride weekend. So, I will be "PMCing" alone this year, riding the miles in South Carolina during PMC weekend. I should be able to get back to Massachusetts to ride the PMC route again next year, and hopefully for many years to come.
