This year, I am proud to ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) — the nation’s most successful athletic fundraiser — as a member of Team Brave Like Blake. We’re riding to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.

This ride is personal. I’m riding in honor of my brave, beautiful daughter Blake, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma just days after turning five.

We had just wrapped up the best weekend — celebrating all three of my daughters’ summer birthdays with a huge pool party bash. Life felt joyful and carefree. But only three days later, on August 6, 2024, Blake was diagnosed. It’s a date I will never forget.

Since then, Blake has endured:

• Multiple scans and invasive procedures
• Blood and platelet transfusions
• Countless hospital stays
• Rounds of chemotherapy
• A stem cell collection
• A 14-hour tumor removal surgery in NYC

We were hopeful after the holidays that treatment might be behind us. But recent scans confirmed otherwise, and Blake is now facing an even more intensive treatment journey: more chemo, a lengthy stem cell transplant, radiation, and six months of immunotherapy.

Through it all, Blake’s strength, courage, and that sweet, radiant smile never fade. She continues to inspire all of us — every single day.

This August 2–3, I’ll ride 160 miles alongside Team Brave Like Blake. Our team goal is to raise $120,000, and 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to Neuroblastoma research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
