The PMC is not just something I do. It is a huge part of who I am. It gives me hope, inspires me, drives me, and forces me to get uncomfortable with the added benefit of staying active.
In 2024, I had such amazing plans, but all of that came to a sudden halt when I received a phone call that changed my life forever: I have some bad news. You have breast cancer.
This wasn't the first time I heard you've got cancer, as I had melanoma in 2017. But here I was again. How? Why? I spent the year back and forth to doctor's appointments, had three surgeries, treatments, and sat in a chair forced to rest, recover and heal. In October, I rang the Bell of Strength and put this second journey with cancer behind me.
I may have lost my breasts, but I've found a part of me that is stronger than I ever thought possible. Today, I am in remission.
For my 2025 PMC ride, I am not only riding for me, but I'm dedicating my ride to my stepdad, Dennis Grammont. He's been to every PMC ride cheering me on since 2013. And while he fights for his life against the beast, I'll fight to achieve each mile over hills and valleys this August for him.
My goal this year is not only to reach my fundraising commitment, but to have you take the time out of your busy day for two very important things:
1. Check your skin for any lumps, discolorations or weird moles.
2. Make an appointment for your mammogram.
A quick, few minutes of time can save your life.
I am LIVING PROOF.
**100% of your donation will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. (And, please consider completing a Matching Gift form, too, if your company offers it!)
