To my family and friends,
I am so excited to be riding in my 6th PMC with my amazing LUNGSTRONG team. I feel so grateful for the continued opportunity to participate in something that brings so much emotion and joy, and to be a part of such a loving community that leaves me inspired year after year
The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is an athletic fundraising event, in which 100% of its proceeds are given directly to Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund in Boston, MA for cancer treatment and research. Since the start of the PMC in 1980, 972 million dollars has been raised. The goal this year is to reach 1 billion dollars.
When my dad was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in April of 2016, he was given 3 months to live. Dana Farber and its dedicated staff played a key role in allowing us to continue making memories with him until July of 2019 (including being able to ride together in the 2018 PMC, a most special day that I will never forget). Through my page specifically, 100% of the donations will go directly to the Lowe Center of Thoracic Oncology within Dana Farber, where there is a commitment to world-class care and innovative lung cancer research to develop new, more effective diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
As a proud PMC rider and member of team LUNGSTRONG, my community and I could not be more grateful for your continued support. Thank you for joining us in our efforts to expand research opportunities and treatment options for lung cancer patients. I am lucky to ride in memory of my dad, and in honor of many, especially our spirited leader Diane, and other teammates currently living with this disease (and proving every day how incredibly resilient, brave, and inspiring they are).
With love and gratitude,
Lilly
