This is my fourth year participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge in memory of my friend Justin Shaghalian. As you likely know, Justin passed away in 2022 after a brave battle with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumor. We all miss him dearly but find comfort in wonderful memories...watching our kids learn to walk, ride two- wheelers, swim in the deep end of the pool. Nights out with friends, watching and hoping for a Boston College win against Notre Dame.
Riding the PMC has turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve ever had, and I feel honored to ride every year. To see thousands of riders coming together to honor their loved ones lost to cancer is more moving than I know how to put into words.
I am excited and honored to ride again in the 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge, to continue to honor Justin and to play a part in raising much needed resources for the research and patient care of this rare and aggressive form of cancer.
I've made a personal commitment to ride and raise $15,000.00 this year. In my three years of riding the PMC I have raised over $45,000 for the Center for Neuro-oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
On the first weekend in August, I will join thousands of cyclists in the PMC, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. I will be setting out on a 186-mile, two-day bike ride from Sturbridge, Massachusetts to the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown in early August.
I will be riding with over 100 other riders as part of Team CRUS11TOUR, which specifically raises funds to support brain cancer research being conducted by Dr. David Reardon at the Center for Neuro-Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Team CRUS11TOUR raised over $1,418,919 in 2024 and a total of $4.8 Million over the last four years. Our team goal this year is to raise $1,500,000. Our fundraising efforts will be directed specifically to brain cancer research and related entities at Dana-Farber in the fight against Glioblastoma.
My goal is an ambitious one, and I hope you will consider donating to help me raise money for this important brain cancer research and to honor Justin. Every dollar matters, and 100% of your donation goes to Dana-Farber.
Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
Thank you,
Lee Fuller
