Dear Friends and Family,

After over 20 years of riding in the PanMass Challenge (PMC), you all know it’s that time of year again. In just a couple of weeks, on August 2-3, I will be joining over 6500 riders and 3500 volunteers in a bike-a-thon to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and the Jimmy Fund.

The mission of DFCI is to provide the necessary resources to doctors and researchers  to discover novel treatments and cures for cancer and to help fund patient care. Most all of us know a friend or family member who has faced cancer and know firsthand how vital these resources are to giving them the best chance at recovery as well as to have all the care they need during this very vulnerable time.

This is your opportunity to make a difference! The PMC accounts for 66% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue, and a remarkable 100% of your donation will go directly to work at DFCI.

To exemplify the success of your donations,  1100 Living Proof riders and volunteers are participating in this year’s PMC. These folks have been previously treated or are currently undergoing treatment for cancer. They are one example of the progress made through raising funds for cancer research and patient care. They are Living Proof and a reason for optimism.

I am riding in memory of friends lost and in honor of the survivors. Please join me in the fight against cancer and consider donating to my ride. Any amount is greatly appreciated. You have all been such wonderful supporters in this cause over so many years and I am grateful to all of you.
